Naturally by Jodie Rose McLouglin

Didn’t want to be
Didn’t ask to be
Have no desire to be

A natural born fighter.
Against the odds –
not in our favour.

A bad hand dealt.
Cards fall where they may.
Illusions of chance perpetuate the myth of

Dissenting voice
in a room full of silence
was never an option.

To begin with
It begins and ends
with lack of options
no choice but to

For those without a voice,
for yourself.
never ever wanted any of this

Survival of the stubbornest
Shine brighter
than bigots and fools.

Take a match to their ignorance
and set their values on fire.

It’s what you were born to do,
most probably,
until the day that you expire.
