bartenders and fires by Debra Webb Roberts

Bartenders, all
each one serving
up cocktails

cheap

and cheapening

drink in the reign of storms

Somewhere among shadows,
where dark covers the night

of souls, a bomb explodes,

and fears implode a city

Inside-out
anger carves out bitter paths,

displays the gaping wound

fires of indignation

How to make amends?
