The Lord of the rings by Raoul Izzard

The wicked gleam of the wedding ring resists
his massing of grey hairs, her second wind.

You make a lovely couple, people say.
He twists the ring, and lets her bask for him.

You see them out food shopping every week,
he always has his hand upon her nape,

and think it nothing till you see the papers:
her bloody murder, his failed suicide.
