Lampedusa Cross by Clive Dee

His last curated object

seafruit of a Lampedusa shore

ship wood soaked in sorrow

paint and nails and loss

repurposed by a carpenter

powerless and lost

his tools and art have spoken

at this relic tears have fallen

the very wood of all failed crossings

..
