The Guinea Pig Line by Fiona Field

Oo…crank call
Crank ca…a…a…all

Crank call from a man without a face
Whatever your defence he’s reaching for his case
This is the guinea pig line
Did spring…to mind at the time

There was a time
I could not bear
To see wild animals tamed
To see those humans made lame
But there was no need
To freeze my pain
It was the rat-race
And seeing those medicine men again
Seeing the medicine…amen

I was just the prisoner
Shame you stole my dreams
I was just the prisoner
Though things aren’t what they seem
This is still…the guinea pig line

Shame you stole my sense of danger
Shame your legal needles stole my…
Mind…values…and pride
This is still the guinea pig line

Because you had me lame
Four walls on all sides
You had me chained
Four walls on all sides
You had me maimed
Four walls on all sides
You…had…me…framed

Though I’m just the prisoner
I hope you see this time
This is not the guinea pig line
This is not the guinea pig line
This is not the guinea pig line
Can’t you see, set me free
Let me be
Because this ain’t justice.
